Badgerland F-100 July Meeting Minutes

The July meeting was held on July 23rd at Soeren's Ford. There were 22 adults, 5 kids and 12 trucks in attendance. The meeting was called to order at 1:10 PM.

Treasurer's report- Todd reported a balance of in the checking account. He also passed around the monthly statement.

Membership report- no new members at this time.

Newsletter Editor- Second e-mailing of newsletter. Still a few problems. Bill Watkins has volunteered to help Bob with the scanning. We have a total of 90 newsletters going out.

Old Business

Progressive Cruise-

The next meeting will be a progressive cruise on August 19th. The route & times are as follows:

Stop 1--Dave Farmer's; 8:30---9:15 AM

Stop 2--Daryl Fedkenheuer's; 9:45---10:15 AM

Stop 3--Todd Shower's; 11:15---11:45 AM

Stop 4--Jeff Burnett's; 12:45---we will eat there and plan to have the meeting to follow @approx.

2:00PM.

Feel free to join the cruise at any location.

Club shirts-

Correction from the last newsletter. The club will be purchasing the shirts from Dave Farmer and any member who would like one can purchase it from the Club. Dave will have shirts & update at next meeting.

There are still some old shirts remaining, mostly small & mediums. A motion was made by Mike Connor and seconded by Jeff Burnett to sell the remaining shirts for $5.00. Motion passed unopposed. If you would like a shirt, contact Mark Favor as he will be bringing them to the next meeting.

Dash 11

Hotel - If you haven't made your reservations yet do so soon as the deadline is Sept. 1st. If you have any problems making your reservation ask to talk to Heather.

Dash Registration -

Reminder: Deadline for early registration is Aug. 15th .

Volunteers -

Still have some opening for registration, van driving, serving food & door prizes. Please let Mike Connor know if you can help with any of these.

Valve cover/Hot Wheels race -

Greg Master's to chair with Scott Patterson as co-chair. Rules will be included in the newsletter.

Door Prizes -

We need more door prizes. If you have any please get to Mike Connor or bring to the progressive cruise in August.

Trophies -

If you are interested in making a trophy please contact Mike Connor or Paul Zeien. We need more, so please make one if you can.

Dash Shirts -

We will order the same amount as last year. Randy Martin will again take care of the Dash Shirts. We also have left over dash shirts. Motion was made by Mike Connor and seconded by Mark Favor to use leftover kids dash shirts as door prizes. Motion carried unopposed.

New Business

Some members of the truck club went to Blanchardville and received the Club Participation Award. Way to go!!!!

Christmas Dinner - Bill Watkin's volunteered to head up the Christmas Dinner this year. Motion was made by Dave Farmer and seconded by Theresa Sonn to make a reservation and pay $100.00 deposit to Prime Quarter. Motion carried unopposed.

Editors’ note: Bill Watkins has reported Prime Quarter is booked until February 3, 2001.

Valve Cover Derby Rules

 

 

Maximum width: 15" Maximum Length: 30" Maximum Height: 10" Maximum Weight: 1 lb.

No Electronic steering devices.

No Engines nor propulsion of any kind.

One valve cover per chassis. No switching.

Wheels of any kind may be used. However, the wheels cannot extend beyond the stock gasket surface.

No moveable weight.

Must maintain "stock gasket surface".

4 classes will be held: Girls, Boys, Ladies and Men

Each participant must have his or her own Valve Cover Derby vehicle.

Vehicles will be weighed before racing.

 

We celebrated Dave Farmer’s birthday after the Club meeting. The cake frosting had a picture of Daves’ truck on it.

After the cake was eaten, Dave headed out of town in his much revised, great looking F-1!

 

The next meeting will be at the home of Jeff and Lori Burnett in Caledonia, WI. Gather at 12:45 for lunch, and the meeting will start at about 2:00PM. Please bring a dish to pass, something to drink and chair to sit on.
